Despite being a relatively small island, Sri Lanka is rich in
history and heritage, spanning over 2500 years. Sri Lanka’s
Cultural Triangle entails the ruins of three ancient kingdoms
known as Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa and Sigiriya.
Sri Lanka is home to some of the most amazing beaches in
the world with a wide array of activities such as snorkelling,
surfing and scuba diving. Adding a little flavour to the island
are the unique highlands where a cooler climate and an
amazing view of the surrounding hills are o en enticing and
make for a tranquil getaway. Also amongst the highlands,
depicting Sri Lanka’s proud colonial heritage, are the tea
plantations and estates. Sri Lanka’s many wildlife parks,
a magnificent variety of birds and a plethora of flora and
fauna including The Big Five consisting of the iconic Asian
Elephant, the elusive Leopard, Sloth Bears, Sperm Whales
and Blue Whales.
Unbelievably, all these experiences are packed into a
compact land mass 400km north to south and 225km east to
west. A few hours either way gives one a complete change in
scenery, from tranquil beaches to wild life safaris to historic
monuments to beautiful verdant mountains! Sri Lanka truly
does o er the complete all in one holiday.
