In the island of Sri Lanka distinctive seasons do not occur and being close to the Equator the tropical climate is akin to a glorious summer around the year. Placed on the western coastline of the island the weather forecast for Negombo is of course predictably warm, with sunny days and clear nights being yours to enjoy most of the time.
Temperatures throughout the year tend to be constant, being between 26°C -31°C during day but with fresh gusts coming in from the ocean, settling down to around 24°C at night. Whilst good clear weather is the norm, rainy days must be weathered during the monsoon season. Being in the ‘Wet Zone’ of the country, the South-western monsoon affects Negombo from June to October and some itinerant showers will also arrive from December to March during the North-eastern monsoon.
The healing powers of the sun however, will more often than not be out to grant you its blessings throughout the year – as we do every day at Jetwing Ayurveda Pavilions, whatever the weather.
