At the beautiful seaside resort town of Negombo, weather conditions are certainly warm and tropical throughout the year. The average temperatures tend to hover between 26°C -31°C during day time and dropping to a cooler 24°Cat night.

With its very close proximity to the equator a tropical climate can be enjoyed around Sri Lanka and there are of course no marked seasons.  The West of Sri Lanka generally experiences wetter weather than the North and Eastern regions of the island. And being on the West coast in the ‘Wet Zone’ of the island, some rainy weather can be expected during the monsoons.

The South-western monsoon affects Negombo from the months of June to October, but during the North-eastern monsoon from December to March occasional showers can also be expected. But clear days and blue skies are the norm, so sunshine does tend to follow the rain sooner rather than later.
