With bright days and clear nights most often than not, the weather in Negombo is generally blissfully warm and tropical right throughout the year. The temperatures in general waver between 26oC -31oC during day time and cool down to around 24oC at night.

The island of Sri Lanka sits close to the Equator, so the climate in general is hot and humid and distinct seasons are not experienced. While it feels like summer all year, rain is something you will certainly come across. The island’s west coast is prone to wetter weather than the North and Eastern regions and with Negombo being on the West coast it is certainly affected by the monsoons – the South-western monsoon from the months of June to October, and also during the North-eastern monsoon from December to March, when occasional showers do head this way.

Overall however, sunny days are something you can expect the weather gods to bless you with more often than not.
