It is also just a 5 minute drive from the famous beach of Unawatuna – now the centre of all beachside action on the South coast. The largest city in the South and one of great significance in many ways, Galle is a wonderful blend of culture, history, beauty, tradition and everything else in between. The journey south to Era Beach will give you more than a fair glimpse of life in our tropical island with the vast Indian Ocean rolling beside you all the way, and the rail track weaving along too.
