Bundala National Park
Wintering grounds for thousands of migrants
Bundala National Park, on the southern coast of Sri Lanka, is among the best destinations in the island for wading and coastal birds, but forest species are also found in their hundreds in this national park. The national park is situated just forty minutes from Jetwing Jungle Lodge and the drive takes you through scenic paddy fields and lush marshlands which are abound with wildlife as well.
If you are lucky, you may even score an encounter with one of the rarest of Sri Lanka’s birds as well as the island’s tallest avian, the black-necked stork as well as the most elusive of migrants that flock to the island.
