Being the central hub of the hill country and its major city travel toNuwara Eliya is indeed as convenient as it is exciting. Around 170 km away from the Bandaranaike International Airport, you can opt for a long drive of around 5 hours through some of the most breathtaking scenery in the island passing through some of the main hill country towns such as Kandy , Gampola ,Pussellawa along the way to Nuwara Eliya – the hill capital of Sri Lanka.
The road is long and winding yet the astounding mountain vistas of lush green valleys of tea and the misty peaks rising majestically in the distance will keep you entertained all the way. The bus station is just a kilometre from the hotel, if you wish to arrive by one.
There is no direct train service to Nuwara Eliya – the track built by the British from Colombo Fort to the hills in an incredible feat of engineering, stops at Nanu Oya 8km away. However, a train ride is an experience well worth having to catch a glimpse of local life up country and admire the incredible views as they appear through the mists.
