Hakgala Botanical Gardens
Delve in to a world of natural beauty that is artfully showcased in a serene and harmonious environment at The Hakgala Botanical Gardens. This peaceful air that surrounds the gardens combined with its artistic grace earns the gardens a position as one of the most popular attractions in Nuwara Eliya.

Upon passing through the gates, visitors will find themselves on a gravel path with beautiful plant specimens on either side. The majority of the garden experience involves following this path that takes you through a range of botanical specimens. Shortly after entering the gardens the path splits in to two and visitors are confronted with a map that highlights all the attractions that are on offer in the park allowing a small choice of route.

The garden experience consists of paths that take visitors through the various different sections each showcasing a variety of botanical specimens. Sections that can be found here include the Rose Garden, Spice Garden, Orchid House, Small Plant House, Rock Garden, in addition to several others.

In each of the various sections of the garden, plant life is presented in a different and unique manner that includes hedges in artistic shapes that are pleasing to the eye. Some sections are open, whilst others are enclosed further adding diversity of the experience.In addition to the plant life that can be found here, various species of birds visit the gardens further adding to the wealth of nature on offer including both migratory and endemic species. The Hakgala Gardens are situated on the Nuwara Eliya Badulla highway which can be easily accessed by guests of Jetwing Warwick Gardens and is one of the destinations that should not be overlooked.
