The peaceful haven of Jetwing Warwick Gardens is located at an elevation of 5782 feet (app. 1606 meters) above sea level in the farm town of Ambewela a few miles away from the upcountry capital of Nuwara Eliya. Holidays in this mountain resort town is highly popular with both locals and tourists who come in search of its cooler climes.
Around 170km from the International airport in Katunayake, the journey to Nuwara Eliya is a 5-6 hour drive through breathtaking landscape. Built by the British it sits in a high valley flanked by mountain ranges. The cool weather and lush slopes being reminiscent of the ‘home country’ earned it the name ‘little England’ and was created likewise with official buildings and residences built to the style of that era.
