Located in the central hills of Sri Lanka, besides gorgeous mountainous views, the town also enjoys pleasantly cool weather that fluctuates between 10°C and 23°C.
The breeze is always fresh and crisp in Nuwara Eliya; carrying a light jacket or sweater when here would be a good idea. Whilst the months from January to May could be comparatively cosy, towards the end of each year, the climate gets chillier. April is the warmest month, and it is during this time of the year that the annual horse races at the Race Course are held. August is considered to be the coolest month, and October the wettest. March is the driest month, with the lowest average rainfall.
