Weather

Situated on the Southern tip of the island, and being nearest in proximity to the Equator, the weather in Tangalle, Sri Lanka is distinctly warm and tropical. Tangalle is within the bounds of the Hambantota District which is one of the driest in the country and the climate in general is hot and humid.

Average temperatures hover around 27- 32C during the day, but cools down to around 25C at night with gusts from the ocean breezing in. Being in the ‘dry zone’ the weather gods are mostly generous, so clear blue skies and sparkling sunny days are yours to be enjoyed nearly all year round.

Although Sri Lanka has no distinct seasons, the monsoons do head our way – the South-western monsoon from June to October and the North-eastern monsoon from December to March.  Whilst occasional showers and storms are certainly driven to Tangalla Bay, they are never entertained for long; with the sun taking over its normal duties to provide you with wonderfully bright days our beaches are famed for.
