Jetwing Symphony Reports Q3 FY 2019/20 Results
Jetwing Symphony PLC recorded a revenue of Rs. 396 million for the quarter ended 31st December 2019. The revenue for the quarter decreased by 18% compared to the last financial year due to the decrease in expected tourist arrivals as a result of the Easter Sunday attacks.
Hiran Cooray, Chairman of Jetwing Symphony PLC, commented, “It is pleasing to see tourism re-energized by the growth in arrivals in the month of December and continuing on into January. We were recovering well from the impact of last year’s unfortunate incident, but now we will need to be cautious and watch the outcome of the Novel Corona Virus on global tourism and how it will affect our future performance, as it is too early to judge. On a positive note, we were extremely excited to welcome the first guests to Jetwing Kandy Gallery, the company’s sixth hotel in the country, which opened its doors to the public on the 21st of January 2020. The property offers personalised butler service, a stunning pool, spa facilities and many other modern luxuries that give guests an unforgettable experience. We also had unprecedented press coverage and international awareness of Jetwing Yala, Jetwing Safari Camp and Sri Lanka owing to a video of ‘Natta Kota’ (an elephant who frequents the property) going viral online.”
Jetwing Symphony PLC comes under the Jetwing Family of hotels; a brand known as the home of Sri Lankan hospitality and is geared to deliver to the exponentially growing tourist arrivals to the country.
