As the capital city of Sri Lanka, Colombo holds the lifeblood of our island amidst a bustling array of cultural, shopping, and dining experiences.

At the heart of the city is the picturesque Beira Lake, which hosts the Seema Malaka and adjacent Gangaramaya Temples against the backdrop of Colombo’s rising futuristic skyline. A step back in time however, is best taken at the National Museum – a refurbished mansion of a colonial governor, which sits close to the lush Viharamahadevi Park as well as the historic Independence Square.

Adjacent to this notable monument is the Arcade Independence Square – a restored colonial building that now houses a range of designer brands and exclusive restaurants. A similar outing is found at the Dutch Hospital Shopping Precinct, which used to be exactly what its name states, while ODEL has long been the shopping destination of choice for travellers from around the world.

Our island capital of Colombo is located just under an hour away on the Katunayake Expressway, and is packed with an entire day’s worth of adventures for you to experience. An early morning start from Jetwing Thalahena Villas ensures you have ample time to explore the city and everything it has to offer, before returning to the luxury of our villa for a well-deserved rest.
