Meena Amma’s Tea Experience is tucked away in a lush pocket of a 6-acre highland estate shared with our family at Jetwing Warwick Gardens. The picturesque upcountry landscapes that surround us are made up of tea plantations, rolling hills, waterfalls, and a number of colonial bungalows in Nuwara Eliya and beyond. Our home prides itself on being a cool escape from the tropical island heat yet remains warm with the welcoming hospitality of Meena Amma at any time of the year.

Our resident neighbourhood of Ambewela is fondly referred to as ‘Little New Zealand’, and is defined by its picture-perfect meadows with grazing cattle and verdant tea plantations all around. Reputed as the highest grassland in Sri Lanka, Ambewela can be accessed via road on a 5-hour drive from the capital of Colombo, or by rail on one of the most scenic train rides in the world.
