Kottawa Conservation Forest
Rainforest adventures inland from the coastal south
Naturally complementing our resident environment at Jetwing Kurulubedda, the Kottawa Conservation Forest is a patch of evergreen solitude at the foothills of the southern province. With an easily accessible trail, the nearby rainforest serves as a peaceful walk among trees that are marked with signs for identification, while the sunlight creeps through their foliage from above.
Our resident naturalist will accompany you on a 45-minute drive northwest of Jetwing Kurulubedda, leading to the verdant environs of the Kottawa Conservation Forest, which is open between 8:30 AM and 5:00 PM daily. It is advisable to wear comfortable shoes and socks, to avoid contact with the occasional leech. But don’t let that stop you from admiring the exotic flora and fauna found everywhere else in the forest.
